Multi-System Locomotive MSL-XX
The MSL-XX is a sturdy four-axle service locomotive that is suitable for both underground and light rail operations. Configurable with an empty weight of 36t – 64t, this locomotive ideally combines high tractive power with the advantages of lightweight rail vehicle constructions. This enables the locomotive to be used in a variety of ways, even by transport companies and operators with particularly high demands on the rail vehicles used due for he infrastructure. Thanks to a modern vehicle control system, controlled slow travel is possible. Electrodynamic braking down to 0 km/h is also possible. The design of the MSL-XX as a central driver’s cab locomotive with low front ends gives the locomotive driver an excellent view oft he route in both directions, which is particularly advantageous when shunting with frequent changes of direction. The modular structure also allows the drive technology to be selected accordingly. The energy supply can be put together according to the infrastructure and the required application profile. A diesel generator set with corresponding exhaust gas limit values, various battery pack (lead-acid or lithium-ion), pantograph for overhead line operation, or pantograph for the 3rd rail of subways are available. The locomotive structure is designed according to DIN EN 12663 with a pressure force of 2000 KN on the buffer level or accordind to BoStrab with a pressure force of 1200 KN on the central buffer coupling.
