Sensor system for rail freight transport
Precision that lasts: ENSYTEC in the SAMIRA2.0 research project. In the SAMIRA2.0 research project, ENSYTEC GmbH is contributing its many years of experience in the design of sensor systems for the railway sector.
From the initial requirements analysis right through to production-ready manufacturing, the team is responsible for the mechanical development of the mobile sensor module – a part must function reliably under the harsh conditions of shunting operations, where weather, vibrations, dust and moisture place high demands on the housing and thermal management.
One particular challenge was securing the module in place: the sensor module must be able to be fitted securely and, above all, quickly to vehicles of different designs – without the need for any special tools. ENSYTEC has developed a solution for this that allows the module to be fitted and aligned in a matter of seconds, thereby providing a crucial component for the practical viability of the overall system.
With these contributions, ENSYTEC once again demonstrates its expertise in the mechanical design of sophisticated sensor systems for railway operations.
